So I've gradually become less and less interested in reading Warriors because in my opinion the books have gradually gotten worse. However, this is something I've noticed after looking back on the books.

Have you heard of the nine alignments from Dungeons and Dragons? It's the categorization of the ethical and moral perspective of characters. It basically has two axises, the lawful-chaotic and good-evil. In between them both is neutral. The lawful-chaotic axis concerns how a character reacts to laws and rules. Good-evil is the mortality you would expect, good or bad. The list is: lawful good, neutral good, chaotic good, lawful neutral, true neutral, chaotic neutral, lawful evil, neutral evil, and chaotic evil. That looks like a lot if you're unfamiliar with the alignments, but we're not going to be talking about all of them. I will boil down what it means to be which alignment in the Warriors universe.

Chaotic Evil: Fuck the warrior code, and fuck you!
Neutral Evil: I follow the warrior code when it suits me, and fuck you!
Lawful Evil: I follow the warrior code, and fuck you!

Chaotic Good: Fuck the warrior code! How are you doing today? :)
Neutral Good: I follow the warrior code when it suits me. How are you doing today? :)
Lawful Good: I follow the warrior code. How are you doing today? :)

(sorry neutral but you're not that important)

Now, follow me on this.

Villains of Warriors are based on where they lie on the lawful-chaotic axis.

Whaaaat?! Allow me to explain!

All villains are chaotic evil or neutral evil.

You can boil down nearly all the villains of Warriors to "I hate the warrior code!". But there are other characters, like Hawkfrost for instance, who are neutral evil rather than chaotic evil. All conflicts really derive from some angry cat who's mad about the warrior code, and they manage to gather some followers so there can be a big battle at the end of the arc.

Anyone who is chaotically aligned is a villain.

If you say "fuck the warrior code" you are officially a villain.

Chaotic Good and Lawful Evil

Let's be blunt here. There is no character in Warriors who is chaotic good or lawful evil. There is no character who says fuck it to the warrior code and is still treated as a good person. You cannot be a good person if you do not follow the code to some degree. Characters such as Firestar, Graystripe, Bluestar, Yellowfang, and pretty much everyone who runs StarClan all have broken the code before. They're neutral goods, not chaotic, because none of them have ever stuck it to the warrior code. They aren't lawful goods either, they don't follow the warrior code completely (lawful characters seem to be more and more rare in the newer books).

There is no villain who is okay with the warrior code. The only cat who might have been close to being lawful evil would be Bramblestar's imposter in The Broken Code given his insistence in punishing codebreakers and following the warrior code, but the newest book, The Silent Thaw, shows that it's all just a pile of shit, and that he's been breaking the code he's been so adamant about following.

and yknow with the rate the books seem to be going at there might not be any lawful characters at all anymore smh

Conclusion

It's ironic that the warrior code is what decides who the villains are, when it is becoming increasingly more apparent that nobody follows the warrior code anymore. Rip in piss.

a lot of people like to make my little pony next gens, whether it’s for just fun like a fan fiction or for making adoptables. what im about to say applies strictly to adoptables. if you make your own next gens for aus and fanfictions, then they can look like whatever you want. continue to have fun with your creations, regardless of what people say! this post does not addresss you.

you may see a lot of these

don't make or buy adoptables like these

"shipping" adoptables that just look like fusions of their parents with colors that are two levels higher on HSV are not good.

go here for advice on how to make some more diverse pony children or whatever

people who make these kind of adoptables and charge like 300 points because they say they worked on it for 5 hours either don’t know what they’re doing or they’re maliciously trying to steal from you

Redtail is a small,[12] dark, dappled[1] tortoiseshell tom with a distinctive[12] bushy[1] ginger tail[12] as red as fox fur,[13] and feathered ears.[14]
Daughter: Sandstorm

male tortoiseshells are genetic defects. they are sterile. they cannot have kits
therefor, sandstorm, and all of her and firestar's kits, and their kits and so on,
should not exist.
